Reintroducing Wolves--Both Sides of the Issue

  • Estes Valley Community Center or ZOOM 660 Community Drive Estes Park, CO, 80517 United States (map)

RSVP ONLY EVENT - IN PERSON IS LIMITED!

Coloradoans are about to vote on whether or not to direct the state’s wildlife agency to reintroduce gray wolves to western Colorado by 2023 (Proposition 114). This presentation presents an unbiased, factual assessment of two fundamental issues voters may consider in their decision.

CAN WE? outlines the basics of wolf ecology and the feasibility and likely ecological consequences of wolf reintroduction as supported by science.

SHOULD WE? explores the social issues and considerations that can inform a voter’s decision to vote Yes or No on the ballot Initiative.

Our speaker will be Gary C. Miller, a retired wildlife biologist who spent much of his career on research and management of nongame, threatened and endangered species. He was a field biologist at RMNP and wildlife researcher, research leader and statewide ecologist for what is now Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

Please Register for both On Site meeting and Zoom meeting by emailing RSVP_WWS@evwatershed.org or call 970-290-1829.
