Gary Miller will be sharing an update of Proposition 114 that was passed by Colorado voters in 2020. Gary will talk about updates on how the plan has progressed for the reintroduce gray wolves to western Colorado by the end of 2023.
The main focus of wildlife biologist Gary C. Miller’s career has been the ecology and recovery of nongame, threatened and endangered species. He served as wildlife researcher, research leader and statewide ecologist with the Colorado Division of Wildlife (now Parks and Wildlife). He and his colleagues played key roles in such projects as the reintroduction of Canada lynx, recovery of peregrine falcons, and numerous other rare species. He also worked for the National Park Service at Rocky Mountain, Isle Royale, and Shenandoah National Parks. His interest in the ecology and management of small, rare, “founder” populations has continued in recent years, and he has closely followed the natural immigrations and the upcoming reintroduction of gray wolves to the state.
