EV Watershed Coalition Presents: Forestry Field Trip

Come join us as we hear an Estes landowner talk about how they are managing their forested property on Ram’s Horn Mountain.

  • We will meet on the 2nd level of the Estes Parking Garage to carpool to the site.

  • Please do not drive your own vehicle, there is limited access and parking on site.

  • Please wear comfortable shoes for walking in steep, forested terrain. If we have time we can take a short tour of part of the property.

  • Bring a camp chair if you’d like a seat!

  • Bring water, a hat, and sunscreen.

Itinerary:

  • 9:30 am – meet at EP Visitors Center parking garage

  • 10-10:30 am - Michelle Hurni will talk about work on the Hurni Tree Farm and how they have mitigated their 45 acres

  • 10:30-11 am - Mike Hughes from the Colorado State Forest Service will talk about state programs and how CSFS can help manage private landowner’s manage their forests

  • 11-11:30 am – brief summary of EVWC support for project and questions

  • 11:30 am – load back into vans

  • 12 pm – arrive back at parking garage
