Fishy Friday: Licenses Expire Today

You’ll need to renew your Colorado license for 2023/24 before taking your first cast this season.

Just a reminder that if you bought a season-long Colorado fishing license in 2022, it expires today (March 31st) regardless of your purchase date. You can renew online or at any number of sporting goods stores–or even Walmarts–all across the state.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife relies heavily on license revenues to provide all sorts of valuable services, from maintaining fishing-related infrastructure (including dams, boat launches, and public restroom facilities), to fish-stocking programs that help to reduce angling pressure on native trout populations, to enforcing the various regulations that help to protect our watershed. By purchasing a fishing license–and encouraging your friends, family, and guests to do the same–you are supporting a wide variety of efforts to ensure that our water and its resources are being protected and maintained for future generations.

Catch-and-release is mandatory throughout Rocky Mountain National Park, and in much of the Estes Park region as well.
